About the HDL Enhancement Group...
There has been considerable controversy on the effects of alcohol consumption on the cardio-vascular system,
with some studies suggesting that various alcoholic beverages may in fact have a beneficial effect if consumed
in moderation. While the jury is still out to (a three martini lunch) for a final verdict on this subject,
The New England Journal of Medicine reported in it's December 16, 1993 issue that
"...the data confirmed the inverse
association of moderate alcohol intake with the risk of myocardial infarction and support the view that
the effect is mediated, in large part, by increases in both HDL2 and HDL3."
